Who
are Kathleen and Hal Moran?
I've
known Kathleen since I was four years old and
she was two. Our families, each with four kids,
grew up together in the same church in St. Louis.
We were married in 1980 and have one daughter,
Lauren, who was married in August of 2007 to
a great young man, Zak Mussig.
About
Hal
Passionate
- that's probably the one word that best describes
me. So what am I passionate about? A lot of
things, but I'll start with a short list in
no particular order.
Photography,
leadership and investing it in others, restoring
the arts in the Church, the Word, the Body,
using the Word to encourage the Body, drilling
wells in Africa, simplifying life, and all things
creative.
My
family, gray - it's my favorite color,
creation - everything about it, rain -
I love to hike in it. Worship - it's what
we'll do for eternity, culture - I love
to study and engage it, information - I
devour it. Those ought to keep me busy for a
while! What are you passionate about? I'd love
to hear from you.
What
is Go Show & Tell?
GST
is a visual arts ministry that was created in
2002 in response to God working through some
special circumstances in our lives. Our purpose
is to encourage and inspire others, restore
the arts to the church, and call the body of
Christ back to righteousness. The calling on
my life comes from Isaiah 42:6-7 I, the Lord,
have called you to demonstrate my righteousness. I
will guard and support you, for I have
given you to my people as the personal confirmation
of my covenant. You will be a light to
guide the nations. You will open the eyes
of the blind. You will free the captives
from prison, releasing those who sit in
dark dungeons.
What services do you offer?
All
of our artwork is for sale. We sell individual
prints as well as matted and framed prints.
We have a variety of styles that can fit any
style of décor. We are also able to handle
most special requests. I am available for speaking
engagements, group or solo exhibitions, art
shows, meet the artist events, workshop presentations,
and commission work. Speaking events and topics
can be created for a specific audience.
How
did you come up with the idea of photo-narratives?
Photo-narratives
are visual images combined with biblical illustrations.
One day while sitting at my PC, frustrated with
not knowing what the future would hold, I asked
God what he wanted from me and for me. Gazing
up and looking at an image I had taken of my
dad, I heard His still small voice ring in my
heart, "I've given you a love of my word
and photography, now put them together,"
was His reply. I quickly typed out the title
and story, When others rise to their feet, get
down on your knees. The rest is history.
Do you sell images by themselves?
Yes.
Please call or email us for details. Information
is available on the Contact page.
What do you mean by "resorting
the arts in the church?"
God
is the Creator, and we have been fashioned in
His image. Before we can restore the arts we
must first restore the artist. Many artisans,
not understood or accepted by the Church, have
found other outlets for their creativity. By
understanding and valuing artists and their
work, the Church will be better positioned to
transform our culture.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Currently
we accept cash, checks, and Paypal.
