Watch and pray

The image for this title came from a restored hot spring bath house. During the early 1900s many people would flock to Hot Springs Arkansas to soak in the springs for their "healing" properties.

The narrative is quite personal. Last year I had three major surgeries within a 90 day period. While in the hospital after the second surgery nothing was going right, and my body wasn't getting better. One night after 15 days without food and very little sleep, I began to pray. As I prayed, I was reminded of Jesus in the garden with his disciples before his crucifixion. He told them to watch and pray. But they couldn't stay awake while he prayed.

As I continued to pray, I heard that quiet voice within my spirit saying, "I won't sleep. I'm watching and praying."

...and he still is.
