The invasion of Eurasian tree sparrows is happening in my back yard, and that’s okay. We feed birds all year long. The Eurasian’s show up in late fall and stay through spring. They mainly feed on cracked corn, where the other birds lean toward sunflower seeds and suet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shooting with a 600mm lens has other advantages besides its reach. One being a very shallow depth of field. In the image below I was able to quickly position the sparrow in front of some background highlights or bokeh. This helped bring separation from the background and highlight the sparrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
