Soon they will be gone – both the flowers and the winged wonders that feed off them. But isn’t that what seasons are for. One season turns into another, then another, and another, then we come full circle back to new growth, new opportunities. But first, sometimes a little pruning or cutting back is in order before new life springs forth. Have you ever been in one of “those seasons?” Gosh, I have. And, probably more than I care to admit or can remember. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those seasons can be used for reflection, contemplation, rest, trust – yeah especially trust when the future isn’t clearly mapped out in front of you. Now, in particular, is a time when I need to heed my own advice and that of scripture. Perhaps the most read passage in scripture is Psalm 23. I especially like the NLT version. Give it a read, then find a green meadow or peaceful stream – literally or figuratively and rest in his abiding peace. He will meet you there. I don’t promise that, He does.

Your rod and your staff

You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
