I was really excited to get away for a few days and enjoy a change of scenery. And, although the weather was rainy and most of birds have migrated through we still enjoyed the trip. (I wish I had known they drained the pools before we went! I&#8217;ll know better if there is a next time.)<br \/>Below are a few images from the trip along with some commentary.<br \/><br \/>All images were captured with a Canon 5D3 and Sigma 150-600mm lens (extended to 600mm). Due to the rain all most images were shot from the car. Besides, without a blind it difficult to get close to these types of birds. Some images are cropped up to 40%, and others only slightly. The images of the kingbird, oriole, and red-winged blackbirds are examples of using negative space to help frame the subject. <br \/>Exposure settings range as follows: ISO 1000-2000, f6.3-f8, 1\/125-1\/1000 sec, +.33 to +2.00 EV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-3 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul
