Snuffed out in the prime of life…
The tragic events of yesterday – a 14 year old boy shot and killed 4 people at his high school in Georgia – has many people feeling; angry, sad, confused, hopeless, and a host of other emotions. With granddaughters aged 14 and 11, I can’t fathom what they may think when they hear of such senseless violence. My wife and I have never prayed more diligently for them since they started school years ago.
So, for those suffering the loss of a loved one, friend, or other – may I share this lament with you. And, may we find the courage do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.
Snuffed out in the prime of life,
Like flowers without rain,
Their fragrance gone, once nature’s song,
Now only memories remain.
But sadder still we’ve lost our will,
To face these darkened days,
And be the light through endless nights,
Helping others along their way.
