Title: Broken silence

Title: Broken silence. While out taking photos with my oldest brother at Busch Wildlife Area yesterday morning, I heard what could only be the sound of a head on collision on hwy D. Joe and I were less than 300 yards away shooting one of the lakes near the road when in a split second the silence was broken and two lives were lost and a third in critical condition.

The police report indicates one of the drivers was traveling at too great a speed for the conditions and went into the other lane causing the head on collision. In the blink of an eye two people stepped into eternity.

Now here’s my PSA. Is being somewhere one minute early worth your life? It ain’t worth mine! For the sake of my family and friends, slow down people! I hope I never hear that sound again.

PS. after I posted this image and story on Facebook one of my friends replied with the following. A beautiful picture with what looks like a quiet peaceful place. I believe I saw on the news about the crash…so sad. My family was hit by a drunk driver years ago. It changes lives forever. Killed my husband and his daughters and I suffered not only then, but their Daddy wasn’t there for so many times. The sound of the crash, the smells, and hurt stays and stays. It’s been going on for thirty six years plus now. Yes…in the blink of an eye. Thanks for sharing the details of the picture. There have been so many times I have longed for the peace represented in your photo.

If you ever wondered why I do what I do – this is it.

I'd love to hear from you.

Another chapter in the Witness of Creation

I shared on Friday the joy I had with our good friend Jeff Mason, who hosts a podcast. During the podcast Jeff allowed me to share my passion of photography and the Gospel. And, because time is limited on the podcast (along with attention spans!), I wanted to share a bit more encouragement with you.
