The Last Noel – Christmas 2019

This is the third year that I’ve shared this image at Christmastime. I title it The Last Noel. And, although it’s been 2,000 years since the “First Noel,” I’m not sure much has changed as it relates to our humanity. Have there been advancements in science, technology, medicine, hygiene, agriculture, industry, and other sectors of daily living – a resounding yes! But, for those of us who call ourselves Christians, those advancements don’t let us escape the responsibility to serve the King by ministering to those without.

There are many ways in which you can help. I won’t even try to list them. I will suggest one – Living Water International.

> On average, globally, women and children spend 200 million hours every day collecting water, that’s often already contaminated.
> More than 840,000 are estimated to die each year from diarrhea as a result of unsafe drinking-water, sanitation, and hand hygiene.
> The deaths of 360,000 children under the age of five could be avoided each year if these risk factors were addressed.
> Safe water removes the single heaviest burden from the lives of the poorest people in our world. Not having to deal with this daily crisis means time for school, work, life, and health—and allows individuals and communities to plan for tomorrow. Every dollar invested in safe water and sanitation yields $4 in health care savings, improved health, and time saved.

I hope you have a better picture of the need at hand. Let me encourage you to serve someone(s) this coming year. Because one day He will say, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

Peace on earth. Merry Christmas.
