A Thought, A Wing, And a Prayer
“With God all things are possible.”
The chances of me writing a book are slim and none – or at least I thought so until now.
A Thought, A Wing, And a Prayer Invites Readers on a 40-Day Journey of Faith, Nature, and Hope
What can a bird teach us about following Jesus?
In A Thought, A Wing, And a Prayer, you are invited to explore that question through forty days of Scripture, personal reflection, bird photography, and prayer.
Created for the Lenten season, this devotional brings together the teachings of Jesus and the beauty of the natural world. Each daily reading offers a saying from Jesus, my personal thoughts on faith, a bird photograph, a closing prayer and a note section for personal reflection. Together, these elements encourage readers to slow down, reflect on their spiritual lives, and discover fresh meaning in familiar Scripture.
Birds serve as more than beautiful subjects in the book. Their vulnerability, persistence, freedom, and flight offer opportunities to consider trust, courage, sacrifice, forgiveness, and hope. Through these encounters with nature, readers are invited to look more closely at both God’s Word and the world around them.
I believe that photography can do more than record what the eye sees. A meaningful photograph can awaken wonder, encourage contemplation, and help us recognize something beyond the image itself.
The book also reflects the personal nature of faith: a journey that includes uncertainty, struggle, discovery, and the possibility of renewal.
With its combination of Christian devotion and bird photography, A Thought, A Wing, And a Prayer offers an opportunity for individuals, small groups, and church communities to make the Lenten season a time of deeper reflection.
